With the dump of a non conference schedule we get every year, how would you feel about an annual baseball Tourney with the major Louisiana baseball programs? IMO I'd rather play ULL Tulane NW St La Tech etc over Yale just about any time.
What say the rant?

That's why we're playing in pre-season classic in Houston next year.

If we played all in-state schools in pre-season tourney, who would we play mid-week?

I'd like to see a 4 team tourney @ the Box w/ LSU, 2 snow-bound teams (1 from the Big 10 & another from the MAC for example) & 1 in-state team. The schedule would look something like this:

Fri.afternoon: In-State Team vs Snow-Bound Team #1
Fri. evening: LSU vs Snow-Bound Team #2

Sat afternoon: In-State Team vs Snow-Bound Team #2
Sat. evening: LSU vs Snow-Bound Team #1

early Sun.: Snow-Bound Team #1 vs Snow-Bound Team #2
late Sun.: In-State Team vs LSU

The northern teams will need to play early on Sun. to catch their plane. The in-state rotation should include Toolame, Oo-Lah-Lah, LA Tech & any others willing to head to B.R.

I would trade just about anything to see LSU play and probably get hammered by a major league club. One of those spring training games certain schools get to play... Closest thing I've ever went too was when I was around 9 a Japanese pro team from Nahasake came down and we had to play them with wooden bats... We lost 2-1 I think. Not sure, but I remember a fan thrown out where we sit in left because he had a sign he made... And I shite u not! It said "Nagasaki! Tigers bout to drop the bomb on u"!! To this day still the most insane poster ever.. Trumps any Katrina signs

I will never understand why fans constantly think this is a big issue.

I wouldn't mind playing a weekend series against one of the better in state teams. It would be more of a challenge and tell you more than some of the weaker teams from up north. It may help the RPI a little also.

watching troy play ull the caps of ull say ul and their jerseys say Louisiana. how bogus there is no ul and no Louisiana university. they should be brought down a notch. they think they are something they are not. why does the legislature allow this to keep going it is an insult to ulm

Good idea, except i think the tourney should be rotated with the in-state school(s) instead of just playing at Louisiana Lite. It would do the LSUA&M kitties some good to get out of their own stadium once in awhile to play some road games, especially before conference play.
