How far into watching the club game did you pick a team?

I started really trying to watch EPL back after the 2006 World Cup. It was a good bit tougher to do it back then but I picked Newcastle based on Bill Simmons' article when he was weighing the pros and cons of each club

I knew nothing about any of the clubs other than what was in that article. I think if i were picking now based on what i have learned since then I would still go with Newcastle but I would probably give a lot of consideration to West Ham, Everton and Wigan.

I picked Liverpool during the preseason matches a season or two before Rodgers became the manager. I picked SKC about a quarter into the season 2 years ago.

I picked Liverpool after my friend tweeted about watching them on ESPN a few years ago (probably 2009 or so). I flipped on the game and Ian Darke was making the call, I've been hooked since.

I've been watching since the days of Fox Sports World and never picked a team. I prefer some teams to others, but don't have a single club I'm a fan above all others.

I root for teams that start Americans. First to draw me in was Everton with Timmy Howard.
