While my trusty weed eater and I engaged in a battle to wrestle control of the backyard from the onslaught of weeds, a battle of life and death was taking place. When I started taking pictures, the aggressor, in an effort to escape, started to expel it's prey. The anticipated dinner was only happy to assist as it backed itself out of the jaws of death and slithered away in the opposite direction of the fast escaping perpetrator.

I'm not sure about the black one. As kids we used to call them king snakes but maybe it's a black racer? The victim was a garter snake. The wife kept asking, "why didn't you weed eat them?"

That's seriously neat. I've never seen a snake eat another snake.
