Questions for the Alexandria OTers

i just accepted a job promotion and have to move to Alexandria. i'm 26 and single. i'll be living at magnolia trace, so i'm good with the living aspect.
my question is about the nightlife/activities in Alexandria. i'm very outgoing, and i'm wondering the best place to meet people my age.
are there any leagues (softball, flag football, etc) that i could join?
what about the bar scene? anything close to where i'll be living?

Night life is non existent due to the baptist and Pentecostal presence in that town

I would demand more money or I would kill myself. There are no single women in Alec, sorry.
The bar scene is BWW or hit up some of the local places if you dig cigarette smoke.

A friend of mine moved out there a few years back. He's married with two kids and still hates that place.

I lived there for a year and lived in Magnolia Trace. Nice pool and common area there. For bars, Rags to Riches was okay. I liked walking to Sharkeys but it closed. Most people in Alexandria have a set of friends and they rotate hanging out at each other's houses. So single nightlife is not there. It was a lot better once I started dating someone from there.
You're close to a Wal Mart but the Kroger Signature is nice. It's also across from Hokus Pokus liquors. Suddenlink never let me down for TV/internet. The mall is gross.

none that I know of
I'm not saying you will hate it, but it is not an ideal place for a single guy in his 20's. But if you are as outgoing as you say then you will find something, I'm sure. Your best bet is probably talking to your neighbors and co-workers to find things to do, and if you must go to a bar in the area, try Finnegan's Wake, there won't be a ton of people there, but it is actually a pretty nice atmosphere. You will have a nice apartment though

ETA: Paragon is a very nice casino and worth the 30 minute drive
