G35/37 Owners: Disappointed with gas MPG?

Been looking at getting a used G35/37 coupe. I didnt realize they were quoted as low as 16mpg in the city. My driving is mostly city miles around uptown/downtown nola.
What has your experience been with them?

I've got a 2011 G37, and while I consider the gas mileage fairly average, it's definitely not what it could be compared to others in it's class. Highway mileage is much better than city, at round 22 from what I've experience.

Guy I work with drives one. He doesn't complain about the mpg's. It's a cool little car. Too little imo.

My wife gets 24/25 on highway which is pretty good compared to my other vehicles. I guess it is relative. I don't recall the city mileage.
Also this sedan is pretty fast. Don't expect it to be like a typical family sedan.

Sucks, but frankly it doesn't matter to me because i only have a 7 to 10 mile drive.

All the VQ-series engines are tough on gas. It's just the nature of a big V6.

I just got rid of my g35. Great gas mileage IMO! Switched to Tahoe and is a killer but I only drive 10 miles a day!
Also it took a few weeks to adjust because my g35 was fast as shite

Had a 2006 2dr 6mt and averaged 22.1 mpg with a mix of hi way city.

Used to have a 2011 G37s. Got like 17-18 mpg average living in ATL. I liked it but it was too small for me.

I've got the sedan. I average maybe mid twenties on high. I honestly don't know as I never really pay attention to mpg.

Ok!
Get a real sports car with two more cylinders!
You will freak out!

The real issue is the is a car that is fun to drive and it is hard to keep your foot off the floorboard.
If your top priority is MPG this is not the car for you.
IF you like leaving the competition in the rear view mirror- this you will like this car

That's pretty bad for a sedan. I know it's a sporty car, but it is very aerodynamic and fairly light.
I still like them. They replaced it with a new model fairly recently that I also like.
Doesn't the V8 Corvette get 26-27 on the highway?

....a standard vette is not a fast car.
Buddy of mine had a g37 running 12lbs of boost...most terrifying car Ive ever driven.
Saw a murano give an srt10 all it could handle from a light about a year ago on nicholson.

A standard Vette comes with a 455 hp engine and not much weight. It's fast.
It's fast even for a standard G37 or Q50 Infiniti.....which is by no means a slow car.

I have a G37, and yeah, the gas kinda sucks, but I don't drive it more than 10 miles a day. So it's really not that big of a deal to me.
