I've killed a lot of turkeys on bad weather weekends. Sometimes you just might have to hunt them a little differently. Sometimes you act like a hen turkey, sometimes you have to act like a coyote.

I went Monday morning. Had one roosted by the house that henned up as soon as he flew down. Got the hens to come in but he hung up just inside the wood line out of range. Im done with them. Time to start ripping lips

Next time sit back an relax for about 4-5 hours, then he'll be killable.

Those hens eventually will move on to sit on the nest leaving him all alone. When they do is when you'll kill him...

You need to start sleeping in and start hunting around 10:00 if you only want to go for a little while.

Still knocking the rust off; While I was at LSU I wasn't able to hunt them like I used to

I had two on Monday that sat there quietly right at daylight until I walked right underneath them heading to the bird that was gobbling his arse off. Then that one ended up being across a big creek and shut up when he hit the ground. I'm gonna give it one more shot on Sat morningt then I'm pulling the boat out.

Parked the RZR & siting in it drinking coffee when the bastard gobbled about 30 yards from me this morning. Needless to say he spooked when I tried to get out of the RZR
