Any body have suggestions? standard utility with drop gate? specialized trailer format in any way? your thoughts on side drop gates? Wood floor vs extruded metal flooring?

I would like to keep it as small as possible and keep it single axle so I can tow it behind the Polaris when I want to.

If you do a drop gate just make sure it's strong enough to take the weight without bending. That's the route I would go too

You will need a minimum of a 5x12 on that. I really prefer and like that my trailer has a dovetail gate on it.

Also prefer the extruded metal floor as it's lighter.

ETA: might want to double check and make sure that a Ranger Crew will fit on a 5ft wide trailer.

I have a 6x12 that my ranger crew will fit on. It has literally 1-2" between the tailgate of the ranger and the gate on the trailer though. I would go 6' wide as it's pretty tight on my 6 wide.

I have a ranger crew cab and take it from me you need a 6x12 if not a 6x14. The ranger crew is big as it is but when you start putting it on four wheeler trailers it becomes enormous. I added to the trailer collection after having the ranger for a few months. I bought a 6x14 with a dove tail and short folding ramp. I also opted for dual axels. Dual axels make it a bitch to move by hand but it pulls behind the truck so much better. I would ask to pull the trailer before buying one.

I recently bought a Top Hat trailer for a Polaris sportsman. 5 by 8 feet, angle iron with 15" wheels and treated wood flooring for $900.

Pipe trailer. Then modify it on the front upper horizontal bar for a reciever hitch. Let's say the existing pipe is 2", get a 2" or 3" pipe around 10-12" long and split (cut) it down the middle. Place halves around existing pipe and weld back together. You now have a sleeve that will move freely over the existing pipe. Now weld a trailer hitch to the sleeve. This will allow the hitch to move horizontally and vertically. Now back your ranger on the trailer, place hitch on ball, install lock on hitch. Drink beer and laugh at your freinds and their useless little straps

Works for ATVs and UTVs.

OK, this is a terrible pic but the only one I could find.

I would repaint the "rub" area once every 2 years or so, it works great!! Plus you can lock the bike to the trailer this way.

I like that, but does that 1 point of "flexing" contact keep wheeler from bouncing, mainly the front end?
