Glad to see they're spending money on trucks and not better employees.

Why is the truck white? Isn't that racist?

Also, the truck is designed to carry more weight. That means WalMart doesn't have to have as many loads, so they can save money. Also, many drivers think that the truck would be seriously underpowered. Saves on diesel, but when one of those trucks is chugging a full load up a mountain on the interstate and the most it can go is 15 mph, that creates a hazard for all drivers.

Well if this saves gas money in the long run it could go towards bettering employees and such.

Not justifying the move or anything as I think its stupid as well but just throwing out an idea.

They're more than welcome to leave for a job with better healthcare.

I hate that. Why have 35 lanes if only five are ever open?

And then the self checkouts would be awesome, if it didn't screw up constantly.

Easy fix to everything. Have an RFID tag on everything, and a price set in that tag. Customer walks through scanner and given a price, then customer pays that price. done.

You can thank minimum wage laws for that.

Why do you think it is stupid? Investing in a more efficient organization is never stupid.

Terrible employees are indicative of the location the Walmart is in. There are locals that have great employees.

They should replace them with the self checkouts. I actually have started shopping at walmart again because of them.

Amazon is flying purchases to your doorstep and this is how Walmart responds?

No wonder they are dying.

I am surprised there aren't more self-checkouts.

-Less payroll
-Less bitchy employees
-Better perception of customer service
-Opportunity to give raises to existing employees who deserve them, and still keep some of that savings for the company.

It's really addition by subtraction IMO.
