...and we hear nothing from Democrats. Yet if a CEO makes 5 million a year, it is excessive and obscene, and needs to be controlled. In both instances I am sure the organization is paying what it feels is a fair value based on what that person will do for the organization. In Detroit of all places, an organization is paying someone over $200 million for the next 10 years… don't get me wrong I am happy for that person, but wonder what the outcry would be if he were a white CEO who just signed that kind of contract…

Players like Lebron, Kobe, Peyton, etc are actually underpaid. Don't know enough about baseball to really comment on Miggy though.

Pols know better than to rag on their voters favorite sports idols.

It's much easier to villainize the CEO of a Corp that most of the low information voters think is ripping them off.

That is all.

What about the movie stars, rappers, and other entertainers the left is constantly sucking the dicks/labias of? Why in the frick do they need that much money? And what value do they bring to mankind other than shitty music, shitty movies, and tabloid news rags?

Especially interesting if you know something about sports history. In the 1930s baseball dominated American sports. However, a poor kid living in a Major League city could sit in the outfield bleachers for pennies a day.

Now, MLB, NBA and NFL tickets are not only beyond the reach of the poor, they are beyond the reach of the middle class. One would think the liberals would be clamoring for price controls.

Why is there such income inequality between players and groundskeepers? Since groundkeeper pay can not be increased, then we need to decrease player salaries to their levels.

Not to mention, why aren't WNBA players paid the same salaries as NBA players?

Ah, so it has nothing to do with actual income, it has to do with perceived power. Good to know.

Well the biggest argument by most sane Democrats is that wages are kept artificially low in most corporations for rank and file employees so that the corporation can make more, while the CEOs are granted lavish employment contracts with golden parachutes to ensure it stays that way.

In the NFL, no one can argue that the employees' salaries are low.

We obviously don't do enough for society.

Pro athletes do much more than us.

Link? I'd like to actually. Not being an a-hole here. Just trying to figure out why it even matters if everybody rises. And the GAP should include AFTER TAX income. And be separated by earned income v. unearned. I'd be willing to bet it be much smaller than professed if you calculate the bite outta my arse taxes take.

Well that's just not true and a fundamental misunderstanding of what both the health care and income debates are all about.

Income inequality itself isn't necessarily a bad thing. IE rose in the 90's as well and it wasn't an issue because everyone's income was rising. That's no longer the case and the perception, rightly or wrongly, is that wealth gains at the top are now coming at the expense of the middle and lower classes. Personally I think its a lot more complicated than that and I don't really "blame" anyone for the most part but it does make me roll my eyes when rich people butch about those oppressive tax rates (ignoring that the federal top bracket is taxed much less today than it was for previous generations)

I really don't care what a politician said about it, stop painting all liberals with that brush unless you'd like me to assume that all of you believe a woman's "body can shut that whole thing down" or that you can see Russia from your house is good foreign policy experience.
