I have a long drive so let's get it started early.
Headed to SW Miss. Clear and cool at the moment, today will be a good one for the OB.

So excited for what this morning could have in store. Thought about it all night long.
I'm going to sneak in there about 20 minutes before first light.
Really hoping this temperature drop doesn't mess with them too much. It's 39*F here this morning.
Grandpa's old 10ga for the hunt today. Hope I can make him proud

Just called one with 10 steps but was across the fence line, was gonna try to get him to jump the fence since I saw someone hunting this field last Sunday. He made me once he closed in. called him from a group about 150 yards away. This is the first time I let a fence line get the best of me. I would blast his arse if given another chance. Probably just ruined my Sunday.

That turkey wanted to die, and fences are often 11-12 feet off the actual property line.

Heard more gobbling this morning on the roost than I ever have. It was amazing.
I snuck into my spot before daylight and set up. The bird was still in the same tree. He gobbled 10-15 times then I hear him fly and don't you know it, he flew the other way, across the creek from me. Same as other people said, no noise on the ground

Pretty much the same story for me, but the gobbling on the limb didn't last long at all. I walked a good ways down a logging road and heard 3 or 4, but none were close enough to really go to. I stood in the same place for a few minutes thinking I would hear one closer. After the others gobbled about 20 times between them I decided to go to the closest one, but it was a few hundred yards away and then I had to stop to hear what side of the creek he was on. By then they had all shut up just as quick as they started. All of the gobbling took place in less than 5 minutes, and it was still 10 minutes or so before they would have been flying down. It was like someone turned the switch on, and then right back off.
