So did anyone purchase Elder Scrolls Online?

Seemed like nobody was really interested and there was nothing new for $15 a month.

Is it me or are a lot of these online games not too successful anymore? You've got the usuals that are going strong but nothing seems to really take off anymore.

It's a tired genre that isn't offering anything new. With EQ/UO/DAoC it was a new and exciting way to play for MUD and pencil and paper people, WoW catered to the masses with it's easier, less harsh, and solo friendly game play not to mention they had a huge brand to pull from.

Seems like they should have just made another Elder Scrolls and made bank. There's a few other franchises that should have made a platform game and took the easy money.

I hope no one was expecting high quality bethesda products in the future because this game will sink them.
Expect mediocrity from this point forward. They realized a long time ago this game would suck but they're too far in to just cancel it.

Yes, this game will definitely sink them. A game's mediocrity, which they didn't develop, is going to transfer to their own development teams, and Elder Scrolls games will now suck.

I like the F2P model for the most part in games but sometimes the cost of buying items is outrageous. I play never winter online and some of the items are costly.

I bought it and I like it. Those jaded with the mmo genre, which seems to include the entirety of this board, will find reasons to hate it.

I'm waiting on ArcheAge.. after playing the beta, it's the best game in the genre on the market.
