Raw on smoker deems like recipe for disaster

Metal bowl with eggs in water on smoker might work, but dont think smoke will cut water and shell

Boil eggs inside, shell, and place on smoker sounds like best idea, but not sure how texture will be effected

Thoughts? Experiments?

Cold smoke them on a rack on a bowl of ice in your smoking chamber.

Boil the eggs, peel, place in smoker. Smoke eggs.

Is that my brain on drugs?

Also, whoever tries this needs to report back. I'm curious on if it works and if it's any good.

The old people used to bake eggs in a muffin tin. They would sometimes add a splash of liquor, or other flavors. I remember Justin Wilson doing this on one of his old shows. I don't see why you couldn't bake them on a smoky grill.

For me, I will stick with smoky bacon, or ham and leave the eggs unmolested.

If you just boil the eggs and smoke them, they will get discolored and have too much smoke flavor. Watch Episode 9: Chef of "The Mind of a Chef" with David Chang. The series is on Netflix. The whole episode is devoted to eggs. He smokes the water then lets soft boiled eggs sit in the water overnight. That whole series is worth watching.

That looks rather easy...may have to try that out on my primo. With my cyberQ I bet I could hold the temp below 200. Thanks!

ill probably fire up the smoker on Monday...

if no one has done it by then, i will do it while i am smoking some meat.

but by the looks of the article, it appears that it isnt that hard to do. Just boil, take the shell off, and smoke below 200 for 30 minutes...

I've been thinking about giving this a try...

In the meantime, just buy some smoked sea salt and add it to your eggs! Boom
