A woman whose mother was found dead in the massive Washington state mudslide learned Thursday that the body of her 4-month-old daughter has also been recovered.
"Sanoah was just a happy little baby. I’m so glad that this didn’t happen to just my mom," the baby's mother, Natasha Huestis, told Fox affiliate KCPQ . "I’m so glad my mom has someone with her, and she loved that baby. She loved her."
Da frick? I have to assume she is grieving and has no idea what she's saying. Still comes off as fricked up though

I saw her on CNN. People grieve differently.
They said she is very "spiritual" person. Her daughter's name means "mist of the mountain" in I forget what language.
She said she was happy when they let her hold her body...cause she was in the mist of the mountains there holding her.

Yeah, that's all I can chalk it up to.
My lil dude turns 4 months today though, and I couldn't imagine that situation, or seeing any shining light in it.
As you said though to each their own.

If she finds peace in her child and mom dying together, good for her. It's not like she killed her child like Susan Smith or Casey Anthony

She is probably grasping for anything positive to comfort herself right now. It is likely that the real grief will come once the reality sets in.

If you believe that we go somewhere when we die, then you might find comfort in the fact that your child has somebody with them that loved them.

People grieve differently but I can't imagine ever thinking or saying this.

To be fair, the woman probably has not slept much in many days and has been having news media in her face with cameras since this happened. It would be hard for most to be eloquent in that situation, so I will give her a pass.
She must be relieved that they found both her mother's and baby's bodies, unlike most of the others with missing loved ones.

nowhere near being a bad mom.
dying alone is a huge fear for people. knowing that her mother was cradling her child in their last moments is probably the only comforting thought she has right now.

This. I can think of plenty of worse things a mom can do...like that story recently about the woman beating her son to death.

agreed...I think that twisting this into the idea that she is happy that her child died is a bit of a stretch...

i go there every year..its a beautiful place...the peninsula is especially nice...but damned if there aint some weird hippy tree hugging mofos out there...and you know it...

I'm sure you will see hippies on the pen but hippies are not a major demographic here, sorry I don't see it. Oregon and N Cal definitely.
Mostly white trash on the outskirts and douchebags, hard liberal, techies and hipsters in the city.
ETA: Maybe 'hippie' is relative here.
Bless that woman despite what she says, lost her mom and baby.

this we can agree on...
hippies is definitely defined differently in Georgia so yeah...maybe im thinking liberal and hipsters that are basically the offspring of real hippies...
i will be heading that way in July and can't wait!! absolutely beautiful landscape...and some cool arse people to go along with those aforementioned...
