Do you think public executions would bring down crime rates? If yes, would you support them?

No. Murder is an emotional action. They won'tbe thinking about being strung up in the square when committing the crime.

Maybe. However people with low impulse control have a higher rate of fertility, so their offspring are likely to keep committing crimes in the future.

Not sure, but I would watch em for damn sure, and pay for a ticket too, thus generating revenue.

Yes and yes

It would drastically decrease petty crime. I think demented shite like rape and child molestation would be unphased. Drug related murders would drop. Crazy people will still be crazy though.

Why would The fear of having their execution on TV as opposed to private sway someone?

If the fear of execution isn't enough to stop someone I'm not sure waft else u can add that would be a tipping point for someone.

Hard to say. I have no desire to live in a society with public executions.

For some it might even be an additional incentive.

I'm not sure drug-related murders would significantly drop. I have to imagine that a lot of people dealing drugs in the "'hood" have either engaged in some kind of gang violence or have had friends killed as a result of gang violence. If that doesn't deter them from their drug gangs, then I don't think some random execution will do much.

No, but I have no problem with it being televised.

I've been doing a little research and reading around after I posted this thread a few months ago and what I found was surprising. the death penalty is in a huge state of crisis right now here in this country. There's a significant shortage of execution drugs and states are having a hard time finding suppliers who are willing to give it to them. It is in a huge crisis right now through unexpected means and avenues particularly from the EU and them putting pressure drug manufacturers that are distancing themselves from the death penalty. They've also donated generously money and grants heavily to non profits and other groups that oppose the death penalty.

This crisis pretty much started when the american company hospira stopped making sodium thiopental in 2011 after stern issues from the Italians since they have a plant in Italy and would be subject to EU export laws.

Rather going for conventional means via innocence projects, appeals, they're doing it by taking away the tools of the executioner.

Disguise them as a seal and drag them behind a boat in the gauntlet section of Seal Island.

No.

Our judicial system is fricked, killing innocent people in public will just do more to breed contempt towards LEO and the judicial system, which is already at a near crisis level.
