How much money do you think Bridgewater left on the table after his pro day?
Posted by SettleDown on 3/27/14 at 2:45 pm11
I mean seriously. The dude couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with no defense then Manziel goes out 61 for 64 throwing what frankly, were some more difficult throws. On top of that, ALL but one from under center?
I've been saying all year after watching Bridgewater that he wasn't terribly accurate but I'll admit his pro day was much worse than I would've predicted.
Ya gotta think the kid is beating himself up at this point. Hell. He'd have been better of NOT doing a pro day!

Todd Mcshay said Jamarcus's pro day was by far the best he's ever seen
That's all you need to know

If you aren't good on your pro day, it's a pretty bad omen. Bridgewater was bad.

A part of me thinks that Teddy is Gino Smith 2.0 but with maybe a better head on his shoulders.

You may be right, I haven't paid enough attention to them over the years to notice. Just think that when people talk about Bridgewater the first things they mention are his football IQ and pocket presence, two things that he can't show off at a pro day.

Bridgewater really does remind me of the many other QBs who put up huge numbers while playing FOR pretty good teams with awful schedules. The list is long of both races.
Look at Mett's season this year. What do you think his stats would've looked like against the Louisville murderer's row?

I don't see what's so high football IQ about throwing to guys 10 yards in the clear on game day.
JFF, for all his flaws, has probably the highest "football IQ" I've ever seen on a field if you define football IQ as an innate knowledge of what's going on on the field. Sure, Manning is probably the prototype of football IQ, but for the most part, it's over rated. If you know the game, then it comes down to performance.

JR had AMAZING talent. Which showed at his pro day. He failed because he's a lazy bum.

What I will go back to are his throws against UF in the Sugar last year and against Miami in the bowl game this year. He CARVED those teams up. Miami was not great this year, but that UF team had stifled USCe, LSU, FSU and Johnny at A&M.
I mean he looked great in that game, and I take more from a huge game than a pro day.

I don't see anyone in this crop of QBs that will be anything but avg at the next level. Many of the qbs should pray they get drafted by a winner and get to sit for a couple years behind someone like a Brees that is on the later end of their HOF careers.
I will say that JFoot is a possible wildcard and if all the hype they are saying with his pro day on how he has identified his weaknesses and has actually improved them, it shows that he is still very teachable/coachable and with his knack for having the "it" factor kinda like Tyron had just making the right football decisions and being in the right place at the right time, he could possibly come in and make a splash in the NFL. For the rest of the group I don't even see that possibility

Bortles having O'Brien as his HC upgrades his chances imo.
Bridgewaters flaws are exaggerated by some analyst.
I think Derek Carr could fall into the perfect situation and be a good pro career.

I wish JR had gone to a well run franchise. I think he could have made it on a real team - once he went down the rabbit hole of Oakland there was no chance.

I'm not saying he was an all pro, but he completed 70% of his passes in games this year, you know where they actually play football.
