Why does Turkey want to start a war with Syria?

As blogged by ZH:
A youtube video "purports to be a conversation between key Turkish military and political leaders discussing what appears to be a false flag attack to launch war with Syria."
LINK
Forget the fact that Erdogan was caught stating that he wanted to initiate a "false flag attack" to launch a war with Syria...I'm just want the answer to why? Why does Turkey want to go to war with Syria?
What does "false flag attack" mean anyway? A fake attack by Syria on Turkey, thus justifying a Turkish retaliation on Syria and subsequent all out war?

A false flag is when a government orhistrates a "fake attack" (for example: blowing up its own ship) and then blames that act of war on another country to justify going to war with that country. "false flags" can also be used to further various agendas. Some would also say blaming an accidental or incendintal event (say, a crazy loner assassinating a politician) on a specific unrelated group or entity (say, a former republican governor and VP nominee) could also constitute a "false flag".
What would happen is Turkey would be able to enter the war with NATO at its back to put in place a regime that will cater to them. Turkey is a rising power in the region that seeks the ability to expand its sphere of influence into surrounding countries and to use other peoples as scapegoats for domestic problems to keep the people from becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the current regime.

"False flag" in its best display is Hitlers using "German bodies" as a reason for war with Poland.

Iraq-great example of a manufactured "false flag"
Turkey v Syria: Just another proxy war within a proxy war within a proxy war.

False flag would be if Toddy, Rex, and SpidermanTuba were all actually Republicans who act like obnoxious left-wingers to make left-wingers look bad.

Seriously, that site is the equivalent of the National Enquirer on steroids.

Here's a question, and it borders on conspiracy; are western corporate and government interest pushing the Turkish government into a conflict with Syria to ultimately secure territories rich in energy resource to financially isolate Iran and keep Russia out of the West?

Trying to recreate the old Ottoman Empire. Erdogan figures hey if Putin can do it why can I?

quote:No, it isn't. Read the ZH headline and then read the Reuter's article you linked. Two different stories.
The premise is accurate.

Bad example. Not all "manufactured" casus belli is a false flag.

The premise is a youtube video posting classified information is being censored by the Turks, Reuters reported that.

Operation Northwoods would be a good example of a "false flag". It was a plan developed in the early 60's to make it appear that the U.S. had been attacked by Cuba. It's a real dandy if anyone cares to look it up. And it's a damn good thing that JFK didn't authorize it.

Another example is Israel's Operation Susannah, which fortunately was uncovered before it was carried out.

If Russia invaded Turkey from the rear, would Greece help?

That's an interesting one.
An entire forum would be needed to cover a mere portion of all the false flags in recent history and how they have been used over the years to promote various agendas for various governments. Of course, most people just don't believe in conspiracies ...in spite of the facts.
