All this talk of crawfish has me wanting to do a small boil this evening.

Anywhere selling live by the lb at a decent price?

depends what you consider a decent price. The price I've been seeing is around $120/sack

I've never heard of anyone selling crawfish by anything other than by the sack.

ETA: I'm saying buy them alive by the pound. Of course you can get them already boiled y the pound all over the place.

You could buy them already boiled at Crawfish xpress in Plaquemine for $4.50/ lb.

Do they use a very heavy zatarains style boil?

As for by the lb live, thats the catch, later in the year everyone will bust a sack and do by the lb pricing...at the moment, its pretty limited to tonys seafood.

I just prefer to do them myself wuth kess of a focus on crab boil and more on citrus, peppers, onions, garlic, celery and so on... really gets a good flavor going.
