People posting comments on the article are taking up for the McDonald's workers...complaining about raising minimum wage. I love when people make excuses for criminals!

they sold kids disgusting by-product food under the guise of a wholesome dining experience?

The Union does not offer a good nutritious food product unless you go to the old restaurant on the third floor, everything else is fast food crap.

8 years ago the employees at McDonalds in the union got paid above minimum wage; they even offered a scholarship program for the employees .

They are making a cry out to the customers and owners of businesses that may employ them in the future with the liberal arts degree they took six years to finish and now have to pay back the debt upon. They are lending a empathic voice for the accused as that could be them. Although living in a mostly secular world the simple phrase "there but for the grace of God go I" is appropriate.
