Coach Sean Payton doesn't expect the nagging foot woes Marques Colston battled last season to go away.

It's March, but Payton is already saying that Colston's practice time will have to be monitored again this season. It's obviously not ideal. Colston set four-year lows in catches (75), yards (943) and touchdowns (5) last year while also watching his YPC sink for the third straight season. The 31-year-old (in June) remains a WR3 as the top wideout in Drew Brees' offense, but there's very little explosive upside left here.

We need receivers pretty badly.

I guess that explains his inconsistency last season.

Especially at the beginning.

G GS Rec Ryds Avg Lng TD
2013 New Orleans Saints 15 11 75 943 12.6 35 5

Pretty legit imho.

Is he on the tail end of his career, sure. But he still produces. That said, yea, it's no secret we need 2 more young legit wr's.

I think we need the James Jones/Eric Decker type. Not too fast, but fast enough to stretch the field AND be a possession WR. Colston will probably finish his career playing the middle of the field with Jimmy Graham. Stills will probably be the intermediate route runner but other than that this team needs that #1 WR.

That's why I like Brandin Cooks if we'd draft him. We need a quick/shifty guy that can get yards after the catch. As much as I love Drew, he's not throwing the deep ball that well these days. I don't think he NEEDS to throw it deep, but we need guys that can make something happen after the catch. I had an issue with Moore about that...dude would always make the catch, but seemed content with just that. Generally, he'd catch it, and drop or run out of bounds.

The only pick/picks that would shock me and I think most here would be if we did not grab a W.R. in the first two rounds.

That's why I've always liked Jones/Decker and even Jordy Nelson of GB. Those guys are built like brick shithouses, can move, can catch and can make a play without running OB.

He was at the top of my FA wish list. But I'm stoked we got Byrd.

I don't think anyone wants to trade Graham. I'm on the give the man his money pain train, but he's not worth what he's asking. And if it comes down to the Saints having to let him sign elsewhere and reap 2 1st round picks, I am not going to complain.

I would be perfectly okay with drafting Odell Beckham in the first round, LSU having nothing to do with that.

I'm not afraid to say it either. Odell's got huge hands and has the ability to go up at the highest point and snag the ball. He didn't always make the play at LSU, but he definitely put himself in position and wasn't afraid to do it.

Sure it's only Mocks, but I've seen a few recent updated mocks that have us taking him, or at least him be there at 27. I wouldn't hate it.

That said, mark my words....that Brandin Cooks kid is going to be special.

Yes they do.

He's not. But he is worth what we are gonna end up paying him.

Obviously. But we all know this is not happening.

To stay on topic. Yes we need to draft a WR desperately.

So people want to trade Graham? Do these people watch the Saints?

I guess they don't. But signing him to the Tag and then trading him is what a lot of fans would like to see happen.

He maybe, but Chip Kelly been checking him out real hard from several reports, was at his pro day with alot of talk about the Eagles going after him with the pending trade or release of D Jack.
