Houma girl injured - pit bull attack

A 5-year-old child was taken to a hospital tonight with wounds suffered from a dog attack at Houma Highland Apartments, 461 S. Hollywood Road, fire officials said.
Houma Police shot at least nine times at the dog, which was confined to an apartment, a witness said.
The child's condition was not disclosed and it was unclear whether the dog was killed.
