Yea because Basketball is just like Baseball.

Give Wichita State a double elimination tournament like in baseball post season and I doubt they would have gone away so easy.

Regionals are double elimination, Super Regionals are best of 3, and CWS is double elimination. Slightly different than NCAA Basketball Tourny 1-and-done scenario.

I like our chances.

Did you watch them against Kentucky? No way they make it to the Final Four. They would have to get through Louisville, nope. And then, probably, Michigan. No again.

My point remains. ULL hasn't played anyone better than LSU and will not play a team even close to them in talent this season.

Good luck. I just don't think ULL is deserving of being called the best team in the country. They could be undefeated and I would still think otherwise. They just haven't played anyone.

But SOS is ranked 130th. Sooooooo...

The New Bats

I get pissed off every time I think of the bats and how over reactive the NCAA is to every GD thing they do.

Says who?

I am not saying we are better than ULL. I never did. All I was arguing was that ULL isn't as good as that 23-2 record.

I said the same thing about Wichita State. I picked them to lose in the 2nd round in all my brackets to UK.

Name a team that dominated in the stats and played a terrible schedule yet still won a CWS and I will sit down.

Can we please stop the LSU/UL pissing match and get back on topic?

This. The bats were fine after they were "de-juiced" in 2000; the whole "player safety" rationale for the BBCOR is a joke.

I mean, how can you watch LSU's 9th inning comeback against UC Irvine and not say "wow, now that's college baseball"?

Or the destruction of Omaha in 2009 when they hit 3,854 home runs against Arkansas

LSU was there for both home runs hit during the CWS last year. lol

Katz had one and then UNC had one against us. That was about it for the CWS last year.

2008 Fresno State didn't dominate stats, but they played a terrible schedule and had a regular season record of 33-27. And they still won the national title.

I'm still trying to wrap my finger around this one.

ULL has a really good team. LSU has top notch talent, but needs to get it going. I wouldn't mind seeing y'all again in the postseason

In 2009, LSU exposed the problems with the bats in that they realized that if the bats were used more often, they would slowly being to wear down and the bats became more powerful over time. Thus the outburst of homers we had during the CWS.

LSU blasted homers all season. That wasn't just a CWS thing.

It'll be interesting to see what pans out. I don't know why LSU has been in such a slump with their bats, but now is the time to start picking it up. I just feel that losing key hitters from last year put more of a damper on the lineup than what a lot of people expected. When you lose leaders like Katz and Jones, it makes a huge difference.

On the contrary, I hope the Cajuns don't peak too soon and blow it come season's end. But we have a veteran team with some good pitchers, so I think we will be alright. You just gotta get hot at the right time.
