Another Akin like moment

Stupid frick dissin farmers in Iowa, hope he pays the price.
Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) apologized on Tuesday after a video surfaced of him mocking Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) for being a “farmer from Iowa who never went to law school.”
“I apologize to Senator Grassley and anyone I may have offended. I respect Senator Grassley and enjoy our working relationship even though we disagree on some issues,” Braley said in a statement, provided by his Senate campaign.
ADVERTISEMENTBraley is running to succeed retiring Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa). Conservative group American Rising PAC posted the YouTube video showing Braley making the comments, arguing that he needed to keep the state's open Senate seat in Democratic hands to keep Grassley from becoming chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee if Republicans win control of the upper chamber.
"To put this in stark contrast, if you help me win this race you may have someone with your background, your experience, your voice, someone who's been literally fighting tort reform for thirty years, in a visible or public way, on the Senate Judiciary Committee,” Braley said.
“Or, you might have a farmer from Iowa who never went to law school, never practiced law, serving as the next Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Because, if Democrats lose the majority, Chuck Grassley will be the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee,” he continued.

Will be interesting to see how the DNC and such react here.
Will they be like the RNC and throw him under the bus and wash their hands of him, or will they be like the DNC usually is and circle the wagons?
I still think Akin could have won in Missouri if the RNC realized that people make mistakes and rallied in support of him instead of throwing him to the wolves.

probably true. The RNC assumed that they had to throw him to the wolves or else the media would pain all republicans with a broad brush, equivocating all republicans with Akin if they didn't distance themselves from him. The joke was on the RNC because the media did it anyways.

Hopefully it hurts him but most of the polls i've seen had him way up.
I don't have as much faith in Iowa and Wisconsin as some others do.

RNC does this when their preferred candidate doesn't win in primaries, they were probably going to throw him to the wolves regardless, but his abortion comments made it easy for them.
For example they didn't support Ken Cuccinelli in the Virginia governor race at all because they didn't think he would be a good establishment rubber stamp.

Probably not since most Dems probably agree with the statement.

RNC does this when their preferred candidate doesn't win in primaries,
All three major candidates in the Republican primary, Akin, Steelman and Brunner had support from different wings of the Tea Party. None were actual RNC or "establishment" candidates.
Brunner had the endorsement of FreedomWorks, Steelman had the endorsement of the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin, and Akin, who himself was a member of the Tea Party Caucus in the House, had the endorsements of fellow Caucus members Michelle Bachmann and Steve King.
