Cadet isn't near as talented as the last two players to play that role, and I mean he's basically equivalent to a HS player (intended hyperbole) compared to Bush and Sproles in the skill and talent combination area.
What are you basing this on? It tooke Sproles a few years before he had an impact on the league. You're writing off Cadet's talent prematurely.

What? Why? because he was undrafted and you've never heard about him?
ill leave this here

I like B Cooks in that role similar to Percy harvin. He just cant run the way Darren did, so I think Cooks and Cadet together can be serious. I think somebody said that if I recall so yea I agree.

Speed. Acceleration. Change of direction.
Sproles > Cadet

He has good speed & acceleration
Don't let Sproles' short legs fool you. His short steps make him look faster than he is

I didn't say that he didn't, but Sproles is much better. Teams aren't going to put bracket coverage on Cadet.
Come on son.

Id say Cadet has better open field moves. Got them mixers. But yea Sproles obviously has that acceleration.

And they didn't put bracket coverage on Sproles for his first few years in the league. Anyway I think Cadet is more like the Shane Vereen mold of receiving back than Darren Sproles.

So many times last year Sproles legs were churning like a mofo and he wasnt going nowhere

I think he can do some of what Sproles did well...we don't necessarily need to completely replace the production, because we will hopefully get more offense from Ingram/Robinson rushing yards.
...we don't need 150 receptions between Thomas/Cadet

So? My point is Cadet doesn't have those physical attributes to ever be that kind of threat.

That's a really good point. I agree.

yea Id say you cant compare them. Thats why people wish we get another 5' nothin 170-90 pound back with dart speed to replace him instead of a 6'1 210 guy. He's big enough to be a damn every down back. thats probably what people might miss about the situation.

I don't think we need another small guy, just someone with short area quickness that can get some YAC.
Posted on 3/25/14 at 2:36 pm to Patrick O Rly
Right thats why when people say Darren Sproles played Reggie Bush's role better its kinda like yea but no because you can find the differences in the type of players they are. Sproles couldnt go be a 1000 yrd rusher somewhere but he was wayyy more productive then Reggie here. So like Pat says we cant really be looking for the next Sproles we need to be looking for a back that will catch it well and make moves up field.

I'm with Lester on this one.
I think Cadet is gonna have huge roll this year filling in for Sprolsy.

Ugh. If Payton thinks so, I guess I'm cool with it. But man, I've just seen nothin from that guy besides that one long kickoff return. Which I believe was in the Niners game this year...I think?

Suddenness? about as much as Reggie Bush. Similar body type. Cadet's explosion is better than his own top end speed. A lot like Sproles when at his best
Idk what the coaches see in Cadet that make them think he can be a Bush/Sproles type player in this offense. He has never impressed me with his quickness and dude ran a 4.67 and 4.75 at his pro day.
