What about a layup? Jump shot? Can they not spike anymore? That's using the ball as a prop. The NFL is so gay right now.

Other things outlawed:

--Throwing a pass -- that's using the ball as a prop.

--Running with the ball tucked under your arm -- prop.

--Tossing the ball to a ref -- yes, prop.

--Keeping the ball after a score -- ultimate prop.

ETA: Forgot one -- kicking the ball off a tee. That's a prop for sure.

That's the way it should be...just my opinion and I'm sure I'll get crap for this but I can't stand taunting and showboating. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but I would be all in favor of this rule.

Sport is entertainment. If it entertains the fans, there's nothing wrong with it.

Goodell and his kind are taking all the entertainment out of sport.

I don't like Drew's form on that -- shouldn't cross his legs.

This is one thing. Simply showing energy & excitement when you or your team scores points isn't necessarily taunting imo.

It's like Goodell really is trying to take every ounce of fun out of the most popular sport in America

There's a difference between dunking the ball and hanging onto the goalposts.

Why ban both?

Not disagreeing and I absolutely respect your opinion. I just don't see that as entertainment. I would rather just watch the game. Like I said, I'm sure I'm in the minority here. That's why if I were Goodell, I would not have made this ruling...because the majority of fans (those people who spend money to make the NFL run) disagree with me.

TD's are one thing, I get the celebration for that. But, I ain't gonna lie, I hated when Lance Moore would celebrate after a 3 yd catch. Dude was out of control....can they ban that lame shite too?

First home run swings get banned. (Triples, doubles, singles, pop flies and bunts still allowed though)

Now dunking is banned (layups, 3Ps, free throws, fade aways still allowed)

Next will be penalty shots and peoples' elbow, because all sports not named American football are not allowed in American Football. It's a brilliant conspiracy!

But really people, stop getting your panties all dirtied over this. What did you expect after the goal post was all jacked up? It had to happen after that. This is more about the game than it is about checking celebrations.

he'll have to go to the finger roll

seriously when he fricked up the goalpost in ATL, that changed everything. I can see the problem with that

Sure, you're right...I just prefer watching a guy like Barry Sanders or Marvin Harrison. They scored dozens of TDs, many times making their opponent look horrible. They simply tossed the ball to the official, high fived their teammates and went to the sideline. All that extra stuff is just unnecessary.
