My friends represent a band that is playing in NO this weekend. A while ago, they had run a contest in which the winner won a flight, hotel accommodations, VIP tickets, meet&greet...the whole nine yards. They also want to put together a couple of gift baskets for the winner...one will contain band merch and they want the other to be full of local products. We've been over the coffee and beer (to an extent) but I need more suggestions. What are some cool locally-made things that we could include?

I'm not sure a hand grenade will hold up all that well...but M is also making her very first trip to NO for the show so maybe I will recommend one for her personal consumption.

But seriously... You've got coffee and beer covered? How about beignet mix?

I did suggest beignet mix.

If y'all were receiving one type of local coffee and one type of local beer, which would you want it to be?

I was thinking Abita but I haven't lived in LA for a long time and I wasn't sure if there were other breweries that had popped up that are better. Same for coffee roasters. The guy lives in Oklahoma so we want to make sure it's stuff he can't get there.

Parish Brewery makes Canebrake. Probably the best new beer to hit southern LA.

Beignet mix, beads (Mardi Gras or anal), can of Tony's, small alligator head.

Also, mason jar containing vomit, urine and horse shite.
