I recently watched Der Untergang (Downfall) for the third time, and wow. That movie continues to completely blow me away. So many horrifying scenes. It almost feels like you're watching a documentary with a secret camera inside the bunker it's so realistic. And Bruno Ganz is absolutely mesmerizing as Hitler.

What are your favorites?

Some of my other greats are The Thin Red Line, Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates (even though it really annoys me that everyone is speaking English), Bridge on the River Kwai, Casablanca, and Rome Open City.

Many good ones listed but would add

Battleground
Flags of Our Fathers
Letters From IWork Jima

Worst: Battle of the Bulge & sorry but Thin Red Line was horrible. Non realistic, faux intellectual bullshite, a true diservice to all that served there, American & Japanese.

Doesn't count as a film, but Band of Brothers is the greatest god damned dipiction of WWII to date.

The Longest Day: The definitive D-Day film. I personally like it more than SPR. It is grander in size and scope and it left me more appreciative of what people did that day than SPR did. It has a great cast and great production values for the 1960s.

Enemy at the Gates: I just really enjoy this movie. Great soundtrack, smart script. Very tense.

Edit: I don't really see it as a WW2 movie but since I saw someone else list it, Judgement @ Nuremburg might be my favorite movies ever.

I've seen plenty of other WW2 flicks, but these two stand out. I do like BoB and the Pacific.
