Suggestions for Places in SouthEast Louisiana for Primitive Camping

Me and my friend have been looking for a nice place in SouthEast Louisiana for some primitive tent camping.
We went yesterday and checked out Bogue Chitto State Park and they had 2 primitive sites and we plan to make a weekend trip out there soon.
I just wanted to ask the board of any other ideas ya’ll may have. We want something away from people or at least not a lot of people on top of each other.
I’ve heard the Indian Creek primitive sites are nice, but I was hoping for something closer to NOLA.
I don't have a boat (for shame), but we can backpack to a site.
Any suggestions?

Been there, very nice for primitive. Just in case you can't find anything closer to NOLA.

There are a few real nice primitive camp sites in Buccaneer State Park in Bay St Louis, the first exit in Mississippi. It's probably the closest sites to NOLA, at around an hour from door to tent.
The primitive sites are in the back and they are easily accessible by car. You could even stay on the beach pretty late, then make your way back to the camp site. I've camped there a couple of times and really enjoy it.
Top right of this map.

Thanks, that's actually closer to us than Bogue Chitto State Park is.
We are getting all geared up and plan to make a few trips. I'm just trying to find some places for us to go.

Lake Fausse Pointe Primitive Camping
Canoe Access Only Sites
Rent a canoe or kayak for $20/30 a day, and paddle to your campsite. They have 5 or 6 campsites on an island that are water access only. Much more primitive than Bogue Chitto.
I think site #4 is the best:
Canoe Site #4 There will be NO ONE anywhere near you.

Check out Lake Fausse Point State Park. They have 4-5 primitive sites you can only access by canoe. Pretty fun weekend getaway.

Nice! I like their website too.
I'm gonna get my feet wet soon at Bogue Chitto State Park and then 'graduate' from there and move onto the more primitive sites. This looks more like what I'm looking for and it's only about 2 hours away.

Honey Island Swamp.
ETA: It's primitive.

Poxie, I grew up a couple miles from this place. Let me know if you head that way and need anything! <3

I've heard you better be prepared to pay out the arse. Something like 28 bucks a night. The next night drops down to $25. What a bargain. For pitching a tent?
Wasn't long ago it was less than $10 per night to camp there.
