For the underachievers

For those of you who were in a class, and fell behind. Knowing that there was no way you would pass the class..did you even bother going? I would drop the class, but I would lose my scholarship due to being under 12 hours.

Of course, I could try and sneak in a D to help with my GPA, but that won't really change my cumulative THAT much..being I'm a junior.

I'm seriously considering not even going anymore..feels like a complete waste of time. I could go into work an hour earlier..which would be a plus.

Are you currently good to go in regards to you scholarship requirements? If so dropping a course would only put you on some form of "academic probation" or scholarship probation and you would just have to be sure next semester you were over the required amount and that your GPA was above minimum level.

I had a athletic scholarship that I had to pass 12 hrs a semester. Knew I was going to Fail Chem 1202, after drop date. Was gonna drop me to 9 hrs. I took an independent study geography class that I finished in 2 weeks to hold the 12 hrs.

Took Chem 1202 again next year..........Failed again

And that's when I discovered the wonderful world of Construction Management.

Lesson: Dont go anymore. Take an independent study. If you sign up now, most you can easily finish by end of May.

So will you lose your scholarship if you fail the class and it messes up your GPA? Is this a class you need to just pass to graduate, or is it one where you need a C or above?

IMO, if there's any chance to squeak by with a D, then keep going.

It's like 30% homework son! All you have to do is google it and find the formula and you get all those free points. Webassign is the easiest to get by. After that you make a few 60s and you got yourself a C.

Given the info you are presenting it doesn't seem to make sense to go. Also kinda fun y you lose a scholarship for dropping a class but not failing it.

I failed one once. There are worse things that can happen. Just get your shite together tho

Yes, usually you just have to have 24 hrs for the year, for scholly. They will probation you if you drop below 12 in first semester. Just have to take 15 in Spring.
