I literally received a half dozen text messages from friends about this. Which says a lot about me and my friends, as we rarely give a crap about celebrity deaths. But GWAR? That's my childhood right there.

Yeah I got about 35 texts this morning about it as well, even from people I knew in HS that I haven't talked to in about a decade. The side door cafeteria crew loved us some Gwar.

R.I.P. Mike Judge should animate a one minute moment of silence from B & B.

He was a really smart and interesting guy. Great on Red Eye. Shame.

You and your Cuddlefish of Cthulu will be missed, Mr. Urungus.

I remember going to Gwar shows when they would open up for themselves. They would just come out as a different band, open up for themselves, go in back and switch to Gwar gear, then rock our socks off. One year it was the Ex-Cops, which was hilarious.

Gwar was one of the few metal bands that played New Orleans every year so I'll be sad to not look forward to seeing them again this fall. I got to see them 8 times, some of the most fun shows ever. Dave was a hilarious guy and didn't give a frick about offending anyone.

some videos to remember Oderus

Gwar - Sick of You they always closed with this song
