A fat chick getting naked? Don't worry, we've all been there at some point or another.

For any other show I see "N" and I get excited. Except this show. Never for this show.

I've only seen season 1 and I am confident in saying that Lena Dunham is one of the most repulsive women ever to walk this planet.

This show is just fricking weird. What sucks is it could be pretty damn good, but the storylines are just ridiculous... I hope Hannah's plane, wait I mean train because hipster counts take the train, derails on the way to Iowa and she's the only one that doesn't survive. She'll find a way to frick this up though and not even go.

I like the show... The common thread of this season and esp the finale......every character is frickin selfish as hell. Except for Jessa, who for most of the series has been the most selfish, finally does something for someone else, albeit a bizarre situation.

i think there was an actual ability to defend the show in seasons 1 and 2, but season 3 went off the rails

this last season was like a collection of a bunch of vignettes and not a show with any sort of continuity or flow

also, about half-2/3 through last season the show was devolving into cliche and it's doubled down this year

the last few episodes have just been throwing random shite against the wall

To be fair, it's not a show I go out of my way to watch, but the few episodes I have seen have been pretty decent. My thing is, people take every opportunity to bring up how fat and/or disgusting she is which is just juvenile. I dig the fact that she's secure enough to put herself out there despite the inevitable and constant criticism of her weight.

that was something you could say during season 1. by now it's just super overkill (although, in her defense, it's not THAT common anymore). she's turned her naked fatness into a PR stunt for the show...again, devolving into cliche

Not to my knowledge.

Has it though, or is it just a result of the show having been on for a while and has garnered more attention?

the discussion about her being gross has died down greatly after season 1, but dunham uses every PR opportunity to bring it up

she takes every opportunity to get naked in totally random situations that don't require it or make any sense to have it.

I truly believe this is what she wants and why she does it. She wants to be criticized so she can try to make some societal statement and call out people for being shallow. It's what makes me dislike her, that attitude like she is better than everyone else.

I think it's ridiculous that criticizing weight is considered shallow. Being overweight is a symptom of a poor diet and/or a lack or complete absence of exercise. Treating your body this way should be consider shallow, because your sacrificing long term health for reasons such as "I really want to eat that" and "I don't feel like it," which is completely short sighted and vapid.

I don't watch Girls, but isn't it a show made by liberals, for liberals?

Why SFP then would you watch?

I do too, but I've learned to turned a lot of my rantings into inner monologues. It's for the best.
