Probably John Elway or someone else who spun his career earnings into a broader brand like most of the top dogs on this list.
I still find it strange that NFL players lag behind in wealth in spite of the fact that football is the overwhelming favorite sport of Americans. Must be the large rosters, short season, and relatively short careers of most players.
