Why do people think we need a TE?

We dont need a TE, but, what if we had Jimmy and Ebron????

We would be unstoppable.

We could also have the option of just play Jimmy as a full time WR and use watkins/ebron. And now we have our WR problem fixed

Two TE sets would be intriguing. When NE had a healthy Gronkowski and a non-imprisoned Hernandez, they we're a nasty combo. Amaro or Ebron could be better receiving options than any WR available at #27, and they could also help run block if the team is really moving towards a more running scheme.

not need just value. If they grade him #12-20 and the next guy is is graded 12-15 spots later it could be a can't pass on scenario. I'm not that big on Ebron myself. Doubt such would happen.

That said, as to the position, I could see Payton scheming the hell out of some 2 TE sets ala gronk/Hernandez.

Secondary factor- if Graham is playing under the tag, you then have a replacement in house if they wanted to trade Graham after 2014.

but everyone seems against adding another pass rusher.

Ebron will be gone anyway i think. But its just a weird double standard there

I really think that people (especially on this board) undervalue B. Watson... let's not forget, he was a TE1 in New England for awhile..

Watson is a good guy. At 33 you aren't looking at any upside though.

He's averaged 34 catches a year for his career and 35 the past three seasons. 19 receptions like last year is prolly a reasonable expectation.
