I'm cleaning the wife's car this morning and notice come across a helluva mess. This is tar from what I gather and she must've picked it up going through road construction somewhere. I'm using WD-40 on a rag now and my fingers hurt without much success.

Any way to remove this without rubbing off the paint and losing my dick skinners?

This, but avoid a prolonged exposure to dick skinners.

I use non-abrasive hand cleaner like Goop. Viscous enough to slather on and let it soak in for about 20 minutes. Scrub with a soft cloth and repeat. The absolute best stuff is a rubber remover meant to remove residue from burnouts and hard racing. Mother's makes a pretty good one.

Last year's weed eater gas/ oil mix did the trick.

WD-40

If that doesn't do it fast enough, go fill up a cup of gasoline and a rag. It'll will get it off but you will need to take a few showers and to get the smell off of you.

Just know shite that Neville and WM dudes would never slip on their feet.

I actually met you at the EJW thing and heard you were a product of that fine institution of learning.

I'm sensing a cold ultra is being consumed at this juncture.

Gotcha. I'm sure we let and you're good people. I apologize for not socializing much that night. It was hectic as all get out, but an amazing night. Many lives were touched in many ways that evening. It's something that I won't forget as long as I live.

Thank you for your attendance.

Go and get you a clay bar from Autozone or some place and it should do the trick.

diesel works really well. try pouring diesel on an asphalt road. it will eventually turn into a pot hole.

When I worked Oman asphalt crew as the inspector all the dump truck drivers with fancy trucks used WD-40. They bought it in gallons and had little hand pump squirt bottles and throw away rags. Dudes would be getting the tar off their shiny trailers, it made no sense to me especially since they were going right back for another asphalt load that day or the next.

We use diesel to remove tar from our equipment/trucks. It works the same as WD-40/bug and tar remover and at ~$3.50 gallon, a lot cheaper.
