I have enjoyed the NCAA tourney more by NOT filling out a bracket...

I have been able to sit back, and let the higher seed carnage unfold without having to worry about my bracket being busted.

I am happy for you bro. I mean that sincerely.

My bracket gets busted every year...I've learned to just accept that it will get busted, therefore I still enjoy all these games. Like the Dayton game, I had Ohio State but I thoroughly enjoyed watching that game. I wasn't even mad.

Not me. I wasn't in a pool last year, and while I watched some of the games, it just wasn't the same the first two days. I get into it more when something is riding on it. Yeah it is just a cheap office pool, but it makes it more fun.

Tournament time is by far my favorite time of year. I love it more than football season by a long shot and it sucks that it only lasts a couple weeks. But I made a bracket one year because a couple friends kept hounding me about it. Worst March of my life. Hated it. Spent the entire time getting mad at refs and coaches because I had a vested interest in the outcome of the games.
When I dont make a bracket, I dont have to worry about shite. I just sit back with my 2 tv's and my ipad and enjoy college hoops in their purest form. Win or go home competition makes for some fantastic moments that one cannot truly appreciate if they are cheering against the team that made them. I will never make a bracket again.

If I was in a big money bracket I might give a shite but I'm not so I don't. I'd pull for a 16 seed to beat my national champ in the first round.

I did the same thing the past few years, really did enjoy the tourney much more without a bracket. Billion dollar bullshite changed that

I mean, if only everyone could refrain from picking a bracket.

Or you can just not take your bracket too seriously... It's supposed to be fun. If messing up your bracket ruins the tourney. I think you're doing it wrong.

Much like a fine brandy or scotch, good basketball is meant to be sipped and enjoyed at leisure.

Congrats
I on the other hand, have enjoyed a complete invested interest in teams or games I will didn't know much about or gave a shite about, simply because I picked them to advance on within a bracket that will or could be used against me by my friends/office/family/etc

It's not that...it's just that last night, I really wanted Manhattan to beat Louisville, but I am sure that Louisville losing would have killed my bracket, so I would have been conflicted. It wouldn't have "ruined the tourney" for me...but I would rather not be conflicted at any point in life if I can help it...

Except that for someone as overly competitive as me, that's just not possible unfortunately. I'm not capable of not caring about my bracket because as a super competitive personality I always want to win. I realize this so I don't do a bracket and enjoy March SOOOO much more than if I had made one.

Like a couple of others have said, making a bracket should make the tournament more fun for you. If it doesn't then don't fill one out. I fill one out and I enjoy the tournament immensely.
