The ACA is here to stay. It will require a lot of tinkering in the next few years, but it ain't going anywhere. That's not a defense of it. That's reality.

it's only been around for a shot while. i don't think it's too late to repeal it

i mean if we can't repeal the ACA at this point, doesn't that pretty much say that fedgov will never get smaller and even bad laws will remain in full force in perpetuity?

Common sense would tell you that but common sense seems to be lacking with today's populace.

well let's just assume that's not possible and 60-70% of our GDP will be necessary for medicare, medicaid, Obamacare, SS, interest payments and the military. how awesome will that be?

It should not be too hard to repeal something that hasn't even been FULLY implemented. If Obamacare is so great why do they keep pushing back the employee mandate?

This is gold...

quote:

“The ACA makes sure your insurance company can’t shaft you if your inevitable illness becomes too expensive for their balance sheet,” Pitt assured conservatives.

quote:

Before the election Pitt had written that if Romney wins…

* Anyone with a pre-existing health condition is in deep trouble…which, in the long run, means every single person you know, and you as well

That was last year...this year, he is a little less supportive...

quote:

What I’ve learned after a three-month war with these fiends: the ACA says the insurance companies cannot deny coverage to those with pre-existing conditions, which is true as far as it goes. But they can deny coverage for the life-saving medications necessary to treat those conditions. The insurance company I signed up with through the ACA exchange just denied coverage of my wife’s multiple sclerosis medication. We’re “covered,” to the tune of $700 a month…just not for what she really needs.

A cozy loophole, that.

F— you, insurance industry.

F— you, Mr. President, you piece of sh*t used-car salesman.

From my heart and soul, f— you.

Though I honestly feel bad for his wife (and him in that regard), you have to find humor in the fact that this guy carried a lot of water for the president, only to find out he has been betrayed.

It is still amazing to me that the lib-progs didn't see this coming.

That's just it...many of them did. They just ignored it and lied about it because they believe it will bring about single-payer.

You're full of shite. You can't predict the future anymore than anyone else. You have no idea what is going to happen to Obamacare it could very well get repealed or at least defunded.

It's still possible depending on how the elections go this year and in 2016.

quote:

Yes, what it says is that one party can dominate force bad legislation on the entire nation.

While true, these same useful idiots (1) have no idea what single payer really is in reality; and (2) still cannot see that the FedGov is pretty much horrible and inefficient at everything except infringing constitutional rights - they are actually insanely efficient at that.

For the most part, they are colassal economic illiterates who judge policy only on the emotions they have. That's a horrible combination, but one that Libs are saturated w/.

So, it doesn't surprise me at all that they didn't know this was coming.

Repeal is not necessary. Any president can delay all or part of it by executive fiat.

In fact, any and all laws that a president doesn't agree with can be ignored (not enforced), or delayed without congressional approval.

The language of the bill was developed over a long period of time. The volume of pages was intentionally made unreadable in a short period of time. Less than a short period of time was allowed for study when Obummer gave his deadline for passage. Thus, emotion and lock step allegiance prevailed.

As Bozo Biden whispered into Obama's big ear, "this is a big frickin deal". He was right, for once, WE ARE frickED!
