LSU is currently 19-10 on the season, 2-4 in SEC play. Coming in I knew this would be a difficult year, the teams achile heel is inconsistent pitching.

Grading LSU Performance:
Pitching: C+
Corbello has been outstanding this year, she will be a giant next year. She just continues to get better and better. The best part is that she is consistent. The only thing she needs to work on is not giving out so many free passes. Ashley Czechner has been the biggest disappointment this year. She just is not versatile with her pitches and opponents can easily hit off her.

Defense: B+ Tammy Wray leads a very solid defense, the outfield is loaded with speed, all play tremendous defense. Bell needs to work on her defense more but Simmons and Wray are spectacular in the infield.

Hitting- B+ to A-
This lineup is one of the BEST we have had in years. Andrews is consistent in leading off. Simmons, Bell, Jaquish combo is very deadly. Loaded with power, and the scary thing is that they are all still young! Blades has been very off this year. I have a feeling she will put it together. Two players I want everyone to remember are Constance Quinn and Bailey Landry. Landry has really made a huge impact as a freshman. Beating out heyward in RF. She is very consistent and clutch at the plate. She is hitting over .300 which is great. Quinn, while she does not get to play much. She WILL be a terrific player. Very good defensively but her versatility she will bring to this offense will be very difficult for opponents to pitch around.
MVP offensively this year has to go to Jaquish and Alison Falcon. The freshman Jaquish leads the team with 8 HR's. Falcon is a sleeping giant. If she is feeling it, she is good as anyone in the country at the plate. She is having a terrific Senior year!

The schedule looking ahead is scary, we travel to play Oklahoma this weekend, then
@Alabama
but have home games with Tennessee and Georgia. Hopefully 2/3 for the next few series but I just do not think our pitching this year will allow us to go very far.

Next year is definitely a top 10 team. #1 Pitcher coming in next year. Corbello will be much better as well, with more talent and depth.

I'm gonna be mad if Chamberlain plays this week after she took last week off and they handed the series to ULL.

The SEC is normally front-loaded with all of the west teams early in the season (ark, msu, ole miss); this year it is completely front-loaded.

With a young team, I'm just concerned that getting beat up pretty early might sap their confidence.

The hitting has been pretty great.

I would pitch Corbello twice in every SEC series, Cezchner on a short leash in the middle game.

Selman will be more involved in the rotation from what I'm hearing!
