To hell with the Billion Dollar Challenge - just hit on a 32-team parlay instead

I was bored this evening so I used an exponential regression on the true odds for parlay payouts to determine how many you would have to hit on a $1 bet to win at least a billion dollars. Using standard -110 odds, you would need to hit a 32-team parlay to win $1,640,768,042. A 31-team bet would only net you $840,904,152.
This thing is literally impossible, but let's go Shockers!!

I am expecting to see the results, as well as the SAS code.
Maybe a literature cited as well

Your scenario is even more ridiculous because it includes spreads, not just winning the games straight up. Though, as Kosmo says, the billion bracket is a bunch more games.

Well one needs to hit a 67-team parlay to win this one so.

You can parlay game winners

The tournament pickem is equivalent to winning 63 straight money line bets. The OP is winning 32-straight parlays against the spread. No one is doing either

Well perhaps literally was a bad word choice. Perhaps "practically" would have been better.

Actually, it's more like 1 in 576,460,752,303,423,488.
