Moret evidently was doing his typical speech about how he and Jindal turned around Louisiana's economy and Fannin pointed out the state revenues were not growing.

Interesting.

Oh BTW---

quote:

He did acknowledge that Louisiana's film tax credit program costs state government money. "From a fiscal perspective, it is by far the most expensive program that we have," said Moret of the state's financial incentive for the film industry, which has brought several movie productions to Louisiana.

You can not come out ahead using tax dollars to "buy" business and increase state revenues in the short term. That's my opinion.

In the long term you could but you can't keep doling out the dollars every year like we do with the film industry and come out ahead.

Why should he let it go? The wealth redistribution scheme still continues full steam ahead.

Fannin seems to be looking out for taxpayers while Moret and Jindal want to continue to screw us.

Fannin is absolutely right to challenge Moret. For years LED has brought in these hired economist talking about all the benefits of their spending and all the multiplier effect yet their is no state revenue increases to be found that are directly the result of LED subsidies.
