Was a very pleasant surprise. Slow moving at times but only seven episodes long. On Netflix Instant.

Andy Greenwald is a big fan. I assume the show empowers women?

There's a big women empowerment aspect to it I guess but the "authority" on the matter in this series gives a nice answer to it all in the end.

Peter Mullan as Matt Mitchum steals the show imo and he is the antithesis of women empowerment.

Interesting show. Certainly not my favorite but worthy of a watch. The ending was legit.

I just got finished watching that a few nights ago. The acting and the dark atmosphere surrounding the circumstances were really well done. However, it was really slow and I don't know how much I cared for the ending. Some of the storylines seemed pointless to me, did not like Holly Hunters character. I agree with you on Peter Mullen, he killed it. Loved the scene with him and that woman rolling in the forest. It was definitely worth the watch, think I'll try Broadchurch next.

I loved this show. I know this opinion is blasphemy on this board, but I preferred it to True Detective. Elisabeth Moss and Peter Mullen were incredible.

The same cinematographer that shot True Detective shot Top of the Lake, so if you enjoyed the cinematography on TD think of a beautiful New Zealand version of that. I think that is what I loved the most about the show. It was incredibly beautiful to watch.

Yeah, that is blasphemous.
