The Millionaire Real Estate Investor by Gary Keller (founder of Keller Williams) - great info in this book, but I'm not a fan of how it's structured. It feels like your reading one huge chapter after another.
Investing in Duplexes, Triplexes, and Quads: The Fastest and Safest Way to Real Estate Wealth by Larry B. Loftis - probably my favorite book I've read about real estate investing. It focuses on multi family homes, and is a very easy read. It offers all kinds of tips along with real life examples.
The ABCs of Real Estate Investing: The Secrets of Finding Hidden Profits Most Investors Miss (Rich Dad Advisors) by Ken McElroy - a great book if you want to learn about investing in large apt complexes.
The Unofficial Guide to Real Estate Investing (Unofficial Guides) by Spencer Strauss - this covers basically everything you would need to know about investing in real estate. A true overall guide, although it is crammed with info and is a rather unpleasant read IMO. Some of the info is overkill IMO.
I think the best one stop shop for real estate investing info is the website Biggerpockets. It's like the TD of real estate investing. There's no source that has as much real life info as that website. You get real life advice without all the fluff that books provide. I highly recommend it.

I think everyone should start off with Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
Other than that you are 100% right. Biggerpockets is AWESOME.

Jeff Elias
I sat through one of his Real Estate Finance courses. This guy has a wealth of residential real estate knowledge. He said Guy Keller(Keller Williams,if that is his correct name) approached him in the 80's and asked if his sales associates can use his books.
