Been hearing/seeing all the "love" for making kale chips but I didn't feel inclined to check it out until yesterday & I was very surprised at how delicious this is. Separated the kale from the rib, sprinkled a little garlic olive oil, sea salt, & cracked black pepper, cooked at 300 15 minutes, turned & cooked for another 8 minutes & these things were awesome, couldn't get enough of them. Tried some smoked Gouda slices on them & hummus, these were great but I almost rather them plain.
Maybe I'm new to the whole kale game but any other ideas on how to use this, other than in salads? I was thinking I could use it in a pesto sauce or as a sub for spinach in most dishes. Any other ideas/recipes?

kale chips are the only way I can stomach kale, and it's just because I load them down with salt

I've tried numerous times, but I just can't

same thing with swiss chard

Did a Kale salad at work last week. Big hit.

Roasted sweet potato and Kale with caramelized onions.

Recipe is on Allrecipes.com.

Give it a try.

I like kale (and swiss chard, and most leafy bitter greens). I made Yotam Ottolenghi's kale & chickpea stew this weekend; it has tomatoes and tamarind, so it's tangy & delicious, served w/rice and a big dollop of greek yogurt on top.

Kale, white bean, & sausage soup is a winter staple in my kitchen.

I made kale chips for the first time last week and I'm seriously addicted. I could substitute these for potato chips. If you like them spicy, put some olive oil in a pan with red pepper flakes and heat on low for 10-15 mins to infuse. Let cool to room temp then coat kale with spicy oil.

I've developed a like for the taste of kale. It started with the chips and just caught fire from there. I really like the juice.

try massaged kale salad
LINK

my step mother won't eat salad without chicken fingers and a gallon of ranch on it, and then she picks out the greens.

She came back for 2nds (albeit her first serving was small) on this salad.

I find that different types of kale have different flavors/textures (if you have access to them or grow them).

My go to breakfast right now is Red Russian Kale sauteed in bacon drippings, topped with an over-easy egg and a piece of bacon. The runny yolk really works with the kale.

Powerhouse breakfast!

That sounds really good. I love runny egg yolk and will try this soon.

Tried a small test batch of kale chips last night. Tried the oil and red pepper flakes then sprinkled some garlic powder.
I put too much of everything. But they weren't too bad. I'll try again tonight.

Kale chips are esp tasty sprinkled with shichimi togarashi....chili, sesame seeds, citrus, ginger, etc.

Not sure I've heard of that name, but I think that would go well with just about anything.

It's a common Japanese condiment, comes in a little shaker bottle. LINK
