Brendon Hayes - Brother Martin...great prospect with tremendous upside. Will play at about 265 and be a beast! LINK

Tyrell Jacobs 6'4 260 (LSU playing weight 290)...All I can say is "beast". Hope the staff is all him. He has got to be one of the top 15 DT in the nation. Let's go TIGERS! LINK

Courtney Wallace 6'2 300 ...Hole stopper. Good inside guy who has quick feet. Let's take a closer look at him.. LINK

Brian Webb 6'3 290 ....Great inside guy who will be a SEC player. Like him for his skills to rush the passer from the inside. LINK

Richie George 6'3 355 (yes 355lbs.) George has some really good things going for himself. If we could get him to drop about 30-35lbs. He would be a "beast" on the inside. He already runs well but would even more of a problem if he gets his weight down. I really like his upside if he can dedicate himself to getting better. Needs to work playing lower...he would get blocked 10 yards down the field in the SEC. I like him though!! LINK

LSU fans, I think we have some of the best players in the country. I think we can win some National Championships with our guys and a few OOS players who really want to play at LSU. KEY words "want to play at LSU".

Quite possibly the most overused word on TigerDroppings.

You want to take the best. Doesn't matter where they are from. If you can get a better prospect from Alaska, you take him. I don't buy into this LA bullshite. Some of our best players recently have been from oos.

Why did you pick guys that won't get offers as evidence of in state talent? Good grief...

From the sounds of it, I like him! Really want and think he'd be the next great on the line. But 355 in high school? That boy eating his cornbread and vegetables .

If we can get those 2, it could be like what we Hoped we'd get out of Anthony Johnson and Ego, but never got. Great tigers but these will more than replace them if we get them, or either other duo on the list

One thing I dont agree with though, you should never base your recruiting on "In-state recruits' as the number one priority. Sometimes you have to lose some to gain some. If you can get better talent from another state, do it. Chances are he'll tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend. In state recruits, you'll always have that connection for these kids that want to rep their home state.

Marquise Hill, Kyle Williams, Chad Lavalais, Marcus Spears

What made that team so special to me was, I believe, 18 starters were from Louisiana.

Obvious answer obvious: recruit LA first, OOS second.

That's the obvious exception to the rule

LA hasn't been churning out great DTs the past 5 or so years. DE hasn't been amazing, but good enough

Recruit the best talent first, second to best talent second.

I'm sure LA HS coaches would love this philosophy.

It's been LSUs philosophy since 2010 pretty much, I'm sure they are use to it

LSU is a national brand..you don't sell yourself short on getting elite talent just to take a recruit because he's from your state

Total number of stars between the five. THREE!

But you can't judge by stars, right?

I love my state as much as the next guy, but when it comes to recruiting you must ask yourself this; would you want them if they were OOS?

LA HS coaches that like LSU do... You think LSU is the only school that does this?
