Can Anthony Jennings be LSU’s No. 1 quarterback?

this q&a about cam is fantastic:
What is offensive coordinator Cam Cameron trying to teach you?
Jennings: Become a better leader. Keep the emotions inside and make those emotions make you play better. Teach me the game of football, how to be a quarterback leader. You have to lead your team. Become a smarter football player, football IQ. All of the little things, like technique and throwing the ball well and accuracy.

Bandon Harris is just too young. I see Jennings starting 1st game of the season vs Wisconsin.

i like hearing how coaches work. it is all about inspiration. it is about building up and not tearing down. i find it fantastic because of how the rest of the world tears things down, how people criticize and demean people who inspire champions!
massiveattack, what do you see?

It's just a regurgitated answer every QB in the country would give to that kind of question

I think Rettig brings more passing the ball, more accurate, could use better touch on deep ball.
Jennings is solid but he is not as accurate but gives opponent threats with his feet.
Rettig is a lot more mobile than people think, his O line in his was horrendous. He ran for his life, I think he just needs experience.Like both quarterbacks, but its stupid to say he doesn't have a chance because of the spring game last year. From what I have heard, he's actually been the more impressive of the quarterbacks. Cam iI hear is very excited having Harris, I just think he needs more time to develop, should be an excellent qb in the future!

I love Jennings' intangibles. If theyre enough to overcome his physical limitations, we'll see.

Good question since the guy hasn't thrown a pass in a game in his LSU career yet and in his senior year in high school he completed 54% of his pass attempts.

I've wrote mlst of this before, but form all the reports I've seen on the internet from different people who've seen the guys and who've talked to the coaches, and from watching interviews;
Jennings has the football IQ and knows the offense. He's a smooth runner and from his interviews, he's a film room nut who learns from his mistakes. Iowa game seems like it's behind him now. Has problems on his accuracy with the deep ball, and that seems to be about it. No other glaring accuracy problems.
Rettig has gotten bigger and has a good accurate arm on anything 20 yards and below. Tendency to under throw deep ball. That's about it.
Harris can whip the ball down field and throws beautiful deep passes. He's a rookie so he makes rookie mistakes like running into and knocking Jennings over in a roll out drill. He's also rail thin.
This is only a guy's opinion from the perspective of everything that has been wrote about the practices and put on the internet. With that said, it seems like Jennings is in the lead and will probably separate himself even further during the actual scrimmage this Saturday. Listening to his interviews and I also read a Q/A on the Advocate, I believe the guy has a hella work ethic and really wants to be a leader. Talking about reading books about leadership and up on past leaders, going up to the facilities 6 days a week and talking to Cam everyday. I love reading up on him. I think he's going to work the receivers to death over the summer to get better. Diarse is supposedly his roommate so they will probably have a connection similar to Gardner and Gallon last year.
My bold prediction is that Diarse will lead LSU WRs in probably every statistical category minus yards per reception.

He's gonna start but I'm hoping Harris has what it takes to steal the job

I am also hearing Rettig has the biggest arm. Although, Jennings is best between the ears. Harris is a stick.
Just curious? Where are you guys hearing this stuff? I have read that Harris has a special arm several times. But haven't read where Rettig had "the biggest arm". Could you cite your sources?

Just a hunch but I think 357 is in the know.

From this thread you guys are saying that Jennings passing game will be 5-20 yards. We won't be able to stretch the defense vertically. We will have zone read and or play action off the power running game like the bowl game. No clear cut opinion on Rettig. Harris can throw the deep ball but struggles with everything else. Got it.
