I will be either attending the lsu medical school center or lsu Shreveport for school. I haven't decided on going the pa route or earning my mph what are some of the better areas of town. I also will have post 911 gi bill that will help with tuition and living expenses.

Stay in south Shreveport (Bert kouns/youree) or north bossier (airline/22)

The area on Line Ave right off of Kings Hwy is a nice neighborhood where a lot of students live.

If you end up going to LSUHSC, it is a prime location.

Scruffy lives off Line in that neighborhood, not gonna specify where though.

It is a 5 minute drive to school everyday.

Although Spring Lake is next to Cedar Grove and is a legit old money area.

General rule of thumb for Shreveport is to stay south of i20 and east of i49.

There are several nice apartment complexes on Clyde Fant. There is one being built on Fern near Bert Kouns.

North bossier is nice but traffic would suck for you.

Broadmoor or Fairfield areas. Basically look near Byrd and Captain Shreve high schools.

Or the Haystack..

south highlands is the best place to live for LSU med center in shreveport. broadmoor isn't bad, but a little farther and not quite as nice.

Most of shreveport is good block bunch of bad blocks then good block. South shreveport is probably the best but there are only high end apts there. The apts off of Clyde fant are pretty nice but I can't tell you what they run. Bossier has a bunch but Im sure they are just like Shreveport on you get what you pay for. I lived in Millicent crossings when I first moved here In 04 and found them ok. They are no where near high end apts but are live able and seemed to have decent renters when I was there. Those as well as many others about the same caliber right there across from LSUS. North Bossier and Haughton have some nice newer apts if you don't mind a short commute.

If you end up at LSUS, there are several apartment complexes that are relatively inexpensive yet still in pretty good shape right across the street. Millicent Crossing and Brandywine are 2 of them.
