Kinda bitter sweet
Killed a double with my buddy Joe on Saturday afternoon, this is our 4th year in a row with getting a double. Saw 3 hens in the field so we just sat there watching them for about an hour then all the sudden 3 gobbs showed up... Some how we coaxed 'em away from the hens and doubled up..

This morning got real up close and personal with this bird. At his closest I could probably have spit on him but he was so focused on the hen 20 yards in front of us that he did not even see us when he walked right by.. Shot him at 6 yards and took his head off.

Got the first double on film (not good video but it'll work) and this mornings somehow the camera shut off right before I shot so that kind of sucked... Now just calling and filming for my buddies the rest of the season until I get out to Colorado.

still have the fu man chu and chops from our trash bash party the night before.

Nice!

That's a sport that's still "hunting" vs. technology/game cams, feed, etc.

Good for you. I was at Homosassa WMA for the past 3 days. Gobbles were few and no birds were harvested this weekend. I don't think the birds are really fired up there, but just 40 miles South off Hwy 52 there are strutters in nearly every pasture.

First time in 5 years that I didn't fill a tag on opening day. Was hoping y'all had a bead on them.
