Finally got my Xbox One - Question

Playing around with voice commands and cannot get it to turn my Xbox on. The kinect is enabled, instant power mode enabled, and Wake Xbox with Xbox On selected. Saying "Xbox On" does nothing however. Every other command seems to work flawlessly.
Any advice?
TIA

Common problem at this point. Mine worked for awhile and hasn't worked. I really don't use it that much and even cover up the kinect.

Did you ask it nicely?

Stand in front of it and say the command clearly. I've noticed that "Xbox on" is the hardest command for my Xbox to understand. I can change the fricking channel from my neighbor's house but I can't turn the damn thing on whispering sweet nothings in its ear. I don't get it.

Yeah, I can change to a specific channel while I'm in a different room, but this does nothing. Glad to see it isn't just a frick up on my end. Oh well, hopefully it'll be fixed eventually.
Is that command supposed to turn on the TV as well? Thought I read that it would. Wouldn't using the controller to power up the Xbox turn on the TV as well too? Is there a way to enable this?

"Xbox on" turns on my Xbox, TV, DirecTV box, and surround sound. It also turns everything off. Go into your settings and you can set it up where you input your TV's brand. It's pretty damn awesome.

I think it struggles because it isn't fully on. Being in front of your Kinect and emphasizing the N in on seems to help.

Yeah, I've done that. Was just wondering if using the controller to turn on the Xbox could do all of that as well. Instead of saying Xbox On.

Just tried it. The controller turns everything on

I think it doesn't understand southern drawls....it's hard to enunciate

Xbox.....ON works for me without being around the Xbox. It does take 2 try's sometimes though.

It seems to work better for me if I put a delay between Xbox and on

It's the main command I have problems with. You have to basically stand close and say it in an elevated and clear voice.

I need to recalibrate my kinect again. I've heard it helps to actually crank up all your background noise(A/C, fans, washer/dryer/dishwasher if applicable). Then really turn up the sound of your sound system(sound bar/speakers etc.).
Essentially you want the Xbox to tell you that you have your sound system to loud and then lower it a few notches and try again until it tells you that you are good to go.
Basically makes the kinect mic more sensitive.

I am always having issues with Kinect an the voice.
My wife will be on the phone and the baby's crying, the game thinks I am trying to run all kinds of audibles or hike the ball when i'm trying to run down the clock.
It humorous, but annoying.

My wife bought me one Saturday
I noticed that mine wont turn on either with voice commands after being off all day.
But if its only been a few hours sense it was last on, the "xbox on" command works fine.
