Polling indicates that 80% of the populus in Florida will vote for medical marijuana in November. Will this lead to another state having legal recreational marijuana? If the medical weed situation works well, I would give it about 5 years.

A few years ago I said that I saw gay marriage being legal in ten years and marijuana in twenty. I'm looking pretty good on the former and pretty conservative on the latter.

What poll? This is pleasantly surprising, if true.

If it weren't for the old-folks in FL, I'd say less than that. 5 years is probably a safe bet, though.

Yeah, 80% of the populous doesn't vote for anything. But it will pass, and I'll be one voting for it.

Nothing like that will pass in florida. This medical marijuana is a non-euphoric brand.

Over 60% of the population in Florida is for legalization, and keep in mind this is a moderate state that is 50/50 split between Dems and Republicans. However, the districts are drawn up in a way that far right conservative GOP politicians dominate the state's legislative bodies. Bat shite crazy Democrats occupy special minority districts.

Florida is screwed in terms of real pot legalization.
