I'm voting against the Audubon tax renewal. Does anyone want to convince me otherwise. I'm willing to hear other opinions.

"I'm voting against the Audubon tax renewal."

I am leaning that way, too. I am conflicted because I think Audubon does a good job, so we get some actual value. However, I believe the renewal (which I have seen characterized as something of an increase) is for 50 years with little in the way of oversight. The Audubon execs make big money for NOLA, which is not in itself bad, but there is something a little cushy for me in the whole setup. On the other hand, it is one aspect of NOLA life that I have to say is well run. Like the OP, I am happy to be convinced otherwise!

:keege:

frick them for sneaking that shite on the ballot and making people think it's a "renewal"

I'll probably go with Williams as it's time for Hedge-Morrell to go. His ties to Sidney Bartholemey worrie me though

Prolly won't vote for sheriff since I think both of the candidates are incompetent

I'll flip a coin on Coroner

I might be closer to voting for Audubon than Wizziko but I'm basically with him

50 years is too long for the Audobon tax, IMO.

20 years would have been fine.

I went back and forth on it. I voted yes just because it's a nice area and I think it's one of the few places the money will actually help.

Even though I will probably go the other way, I can't fault this type of thinking.
