Drink a glass of sugar water. No idea why but it works every time- regular water won't do the trick

Put your head down between your legs for 10 seconds, rapidly rise up, and choke yourself. I promise it works.

Have your phrenic nerves cut but there is a good chance you might die.

I take a deep breath through my mouth then drink a glass of water while slowly exhaling through my nose. Keep gulping until it almost hurts to exhale. The trick is to take small sips of water. For me, the process takes about a minute, with the last 10 seconds being really hard to continue exhaling. This simulates drowning, which causes your diaphragm to reset, stopping the hiccups.

Learned this trick years ago when I had the hiccups for three days straight. It was some weird reaction to taking too many valiums one night at a party.

My wife had the hiccups and I told her to "take this spoonful of sugar". It was really a spoonful of salt. Worked like a charm.
Anything that tricks your brain into thinking there's more important things to worry about than hiccups (fear and suprise). That's why breathing in a bag also works. The reduction of oxygen triggers the brain into survival mode.

Hold your breath for 8 minutes. The hiccups will be the last of your worries.
