We have one scheduled soon for our new condo. What are some things to look out for and some questions to ask the builder during the walkthrough? This is our first home purchase and we are new to this whole thing. So any tips and suggestions are appreciated.

One answer to your question. Hire a licensed home inspector.

Other than the home inspector reccomended above...
You need to walk through and pay attention to every last detail. Do switches work? Doors open and close properly? Paint look good? Etc.

Look at the ceiling. Be aware of any discoloration or small cracks that could indicate leakage.
Visit the site following a hard rain to check for drainage issues.
Make sure all doors open and close easily without rubbing. Know what every switch in the house controls.

Check out your neighbors. I go as far as knocking up and having a friendly conversation before I buy. You can change a lot about the house, but you can't change the neighborhood.

This is definitely a must for my next house.

This is actually really good advice.
Now I'm wondering how bad my neighbors would have to be for me to walk away from my earnest money

Exposed wiring or evidence of a recent fire.

You said this is a condo.
Ask for the financial statements of the condo association and get somebody to look at them with you. You should know whether or not the association is in good financial condition.

Get a home inspector with good references. Did Is say with good references? There are a lot of guys out there that have no idea what they are looking for or looking at
